ACCESS : ARTISTS AT WORK
This is a ongoing project since 2014. I ask that the artist allow me into their studio for a brief time while they work.
I use only the available light and the shutter is silent.
I am attempting to capture moments between artists and their work. It’s about access to an intimate space.
It’s about exploring the light they work in and how they organize their inspiration.
It’s about their work in progress–not as a finished product but rather their relationship to their work, their workspace, their studio.
I’m not looking for staged portraits of artists in front of their finished work.
I’m hoping to capture moments of the artist in the act of creating, however mundane that might be.
For me it’s about trusting the space and the subject(s), and embracing what is discovered at that crossroads.
